Biography: Lindley began acting in plays at age six, and moved to Hollywood, California, shortly after graduation, appearing as a character actor in several movies and a number of television shows. A series of paintings by Dane was commissioned by Group 1 Films for the production of "The Deadly Menace." One of his paintings for that movie appeared on the cover of "Famous Monsters of Filmland." Lindley went on to serve as a production artist for several Hollywood films, and also began painting portraits of such film personalities as Charlie Chaplain, Paul Newman, Pat O'Brien, Mitzi Gaynor, Barbara Streisand, and Wil Wheaton.
In recent years, he was commissioned to paint portraits of former governors and corporate CEO's, in addition to many families. Two of Dane's paintings one of Abraham Lincoln and one of Tad Lincoln were purchased by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, and his Lincoln paintings soon became appreciated and sought after by Lincoln collectors throughout the country.
